About CopterArt
Since 2013 we have been taking drones to places where inspection and surveying would otherwise be expensive, slow or dangerous.
Our story
CopterArt was founded in 2013 by Fabian Dünnebacke, with the aim of changing industry for good through the use of drones. At first that did not work out: the sector was not yet ready in regulatory terms for a change that far-reaching and that fast.
So we first made our name internationally in feature film production. We built our own drones with wingspans of up to 2.2 m and sent them up carrying cinema cameras, among others for several episodes of the German crime series Tatort.
In 2018 industrial interest in drone operations grew sharply, and we were able to pick up where we had started in 2013. The network of highly professional pilots built during those years remains a particular advantage for our clients.
Most of our clients now come from industry.
Certifications and equipment
All our pilots are GWO certified and hold manufacturer certifications from leading turbine makers (Vestas, Nordex, GE, Enercon and others).
For surveying and inspection we use DJI LiDAR sensors (L2, L3), high-resolution cameras of up to 100 MP, thermal cameras and the Emlid RS4 Pro GNSS receiver, among other equipment.
Where we operate
We are based in Meschede in the Sauerland region of Germany. We fly across Europe and, through our pilot network, worldwide.
