Wind turbines

As a drone specialist with GWO certification and several manufacturer certifications, we support you with inspections and the recurring examination of rotor blades and towers.

Fully automated blade inspection

Autonomous blade inspection by drone is a core part of our work. As part of the recurring inspection, it covers planning, controlling the turbine, capturing the data by drone and a first assessment.

What determines quality is the GSD, the ground sampling distance: the image resolution at the point being inspected. Our autonomous flight software maintains a constant distance to the blade and therefore a consistently high GSD.

Leading edge, suction side, trailing edge and pressure side of all three blades are inspected in a single autonomous flight, from blade root to tip.

Together with experienced partners, we analyse the images using AI-based damage detection and issue repair recommendations. All our pilots are GWO and manufacturer certified (Vestas, Nordex, GE, Enercon and others).

Lightning protection system inspection

The LPS inspection of a wind turbine by drone examines the external lightning protection components on blades, hub and tower. The recurring inspection focuses on the low resistance of lightning receptors, down conductors, transition points and mechanical fixings, so that wear, damage or breaks in the conduction path are detected early.

Modern drones let us inspect even hard-to-reach areas safely and efficiently, without lengthy shutdowns and without rope access. The result is a sound basis for assessing the functionality and standards compliance of the lightning protection system.

Tower inspection

As modern wind turbines grow in size, their towers reach ever greater heights. Sensitive areas can be inspected on a recurring basis.

We support you with planning, data capture and cloud-based delivery of the results, straight to your desk.
